OOC
Out of Character, we are a group of friends who enjoy gaming together. We seek to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ people and their allies. Our focus is upon creating an atmosphere of acceptance and positive community. We also enjoy cooperative and collaborative story telling and not so much dice rolling. We try to make everyone feel included, new and old members alike. But, we also ask that our members be proactive in joining in the role play and content opportunities available and in asking for role play and content if they so desire. We understand that not everyone enjoys large social gatherings and encourage our quieter members to reach out when they want some quiet time to role play or do content without the pressure of being in a big, public space.
Members
For those of our members who wish to be featured here on our website, we have this gallery with photos and small biographies of their characters. It is not a requirement of our members to submit a photo and biography; it is purely on a volunteer basis for those who wish to be featured on the site.
Mogan Khan
Mogan Khan doesn’t remember much about where he came from. As far back as he can remember, he was an urchin of the streets, living in the back alleys of Ul’dah. He survived his childhood as a common pick pocket. And as he grew into a young man, he found he could earn himself a hot meal and bed for the evening by ‘entertaining’ lonely gentlemen. It was a life that led him to make tough decisions. On the streets, if you want to hold on to the scraps you’ve earned you need to be prepared to scrap. And it was during one such scrap for survival that Mogan gained the attention of a Sultansworn. The warrior who saw him fending off his would-be poachers was impressed by the young miqo’s fighting instincts, but more so by the tenacity of his heart. Before he realized exactly what it meant, he found himself taken by the paladins, to be trained as one of them. And he learned a lot. His brothers-in-arms treated him as an equal. But despite this, he never really felt like he belonged. When he was given the opportunity to work under cover in a pirate ring in an effort to ferret out a slave trafficking ring, Mogan found that although there were certainly dastardly villains amongst their ranks, for the most part the smugglers of La Noscea were decent folk. There was a certain romance to a life of freedom on the seas, and although after unraveling the slave ring he left it behind to rejoin the ranks of his Sultansworn brothers, he found that the call of sea never really left his heart.Perhaps it was this fact, or his inability to coexist with nobles and foreign dignitaries, that convinced him to take his leave of the Sultansworn and take up the life of a wandering adventurer and mercenary. A free paladin set upon the road.
Zhalar Soulsong
Little is known about Zhalar's past before he was found unconscious out in the desert of Thanalan by a wandering adventurer a few years ago. After being in the care of the Adventurer's Guild in Ul'dah for a few weeks in a coma, he awoke and it was discovered he had no memories of who he was, where he came from, nor did he speak, read, or write any known languages. Since then, he has made a life for himself as a healer, and a rather skilled one at that!Zhalar can often be found either working at The Rainbow Room with Mogan Khan, running his own Joyful House of Healing Clinic and Spa, or occasionally still doing rounds at his husband's Quaint Clinic in Mist. He is also working as a manager at Sands of Paradise... where does this man find the time?? Does he even sleep? He's a notoriously early riser, often getting up with the dawn for some morning exercise before starting his day of tending to patients either in his clinic or making house calls. At other times he wanders here and there, lending his skills as a healer, or more rarely a blade or gun, for hire to those who might need them. He has a cheerful demeanor and a ready smile for just about everyone he meets. At times his methods might be... questionable... but he tends to get the job done!
Kulin "Sven" Svenach
Not much is known about Kulin "Sven" Svenach. He's a tall, heavily built hrothgar of The Lost with a gruff, no-nonsense personality. In his day job, he's a Serpent Captain for the Adders, tasked with aiding the Wood Wailers and Gods' Quiver with maintaining the peace in the Black Shroud in addition to other duties put to the Grand Companies of Eorzea. But he seems to have a taste for the nightlife, working as a manager at Fire N' Ice one night a week and occasionally picking up shifts at The Greased Bowsprit. He's a surprisingly good healer and can hold his own with a variety of other weapons as well. He'll admit to being a refugee from Ilsabard, but he's very particular about whom he opens up to about his past. His accent is a very odd one, seeming to be some weird mishmash of his native hrothgar combined with lowborn Eorzean... but at times he can be caught speaking with almost perfect cadence and diction, albeit with a distinctly Garlean twang to his words. He is certainly a conundrum.
Talaen Ziduet
Seemingly cold and aloof, this burn and battle scarred albino elezen of Ishgardian origins makes his home in Gridania. He serves within the Adders but can frequently be found serving as a liaison to the other Grand Companies of Eorzea, much to his dismay. A free paladin and a healer of no mean skill, he lends his aid where needed, showing surprising compassion for a man of so few words, and those that he does speak are hoarse and strained at best. A survivor of the Calamity at the Battle of Carteneau, he has the thousand mile stare of a veteran who has seen far too much and carries the ghosts of those he has lost within his very soul.
Qaelemont Draculoix
One of the more mysterious members of the Rainbow Resistance, he can sometimes be found around the Company Estate during the nighttime hours, often receiving guests in his parlor or visiting the water gardens. While he is on the rolls as an official Company member, and holds rank within the Company, he has little in the way of duties or even contact with Company members. It seems his primary business with the Rainbow Resistance is as a financial investor. Those who meet him will find an urbane, if somewhat sardonic or even ascerbic at times, and elegant elezen with a penetrating gaze. He is known to be a dealer in rare books and antiquities, owning his own esoterica library and store Between the Lines which is open by appointment only. He seems to be independently wealthy and his reasons for investing in the Rainbow Resistance are known only to him.
